The cement calculator determines the number of cement bags required for plastering, bricklaying, flooring screed, and PCC (Plain Cement Concrete) — the most common uses of cement in Indian residential construction. It distinguishes between different mix ratios (1:3, 1:4, 1:6) and cement grades (OPC 33, 43, 53) to give accurate quantities, preventing the most common construction waste: buying too much cement which hardens in storage.

Select the mix ratio (1:3 for waterproofing plaster, 1:4 for interior plaster, 1:6 for brickwork mortar). The calculator shows cement bags required, sand quantity, water quantity, and estimated material cost. The wastage factor (default 10%) can be adjusted.

Cement quantity formulas: Plastering volume = Area × thickness. Dry volume = wet volume × 1.3. Cement bags for 1m² of 12mm plaster (1:4): approximately 0.6 bags. For 1m² of 20mm PCC (1:3): approximately 0.9 bags. OPC 43: general construction, good balance of strength and setting time. OPC 53: high strength, used where early strength gain is needed. PPC (Portland Pozzolana Cement): better workability and durability, widely used for plastering. Indian cement brands: UltraTech, ACC, Ambuja, Shree Cement, Orient Cement.
